Raising money to feed children in need, to educate social workers about nutrition and cooking and to support laying out sustainable vegetable gardens.

The Veggie Box Initiative (VBI) was founded in 2014 and forms part of the Chefs who share Trust (registration no IT001388/2015). The aim of the VBI is to feed children in need in South Africa, to educate social workers about nutrition and cooking, and to support laying out sustainable vegetable gardens in rural areas.

The VBI fulfils these aims by working with existing charities, whose programmes get evaluated and their success monitored. This ensures that the VBI uses proven structures and that the maximum of funds raised is used to better the lives of the less fortunate.
